A useful introduction starts before “Hello.”

A little useful context before hello. We recommend learning the name before practising the handshake.

Undated retrospectiveThe publication date is preserved; a separate date for the underlying work was not recorded.

From the developers

Whomly is being designed to turn public professional information into context you can actually use: who fits a search, what supports that fit, and what might make a thoughtful introduction. We are aiming for a thoughtful introduction, rather than the spectacular panic of realizing we have forgotten the name.

The proposed flow moves from discovery to understanding to preparation. It is user-directed research, not private-profile access or an imaginary dossier on somebody’s inner life.

Whomly remains in development; no public service or automated contact feature is announced. Research should improve the conversation, not give everyone a reason to leave it. A little preparation can do wonders. We still recommend checking for spinach before the meeting.
