THE GAME WE'RE BUILDING
Know a word. Or know how to look convincing.
The design brings fast word-building together with definition challenges and useful prizes. The spelling round gets the full 45 seconds. Your confidence may arrive considerably sooner.
01
Make a word
Build from a colorful pool of letters. Start with six word spaces, with a design that lets earned prizes grow the tray to nine.
02
Read the room
After the spelling timer, consider the other player's word and its possible definitions. “This is not a real word” has a proper place at the table.
03
Collect a little help
The planned shared board offers useful letter and word-space prizes. The vowels would like everyone to remember their contribution.
These describe the proposed game. Rules, implementation and testing are in development.
THE MAKE-BELIEVE PART
A lovely explanation. A completely invented word.
A successful bluff is part of the design: offer a plausible meaning for an invented word and see whether your opponent believes it. Looking scholarly is encouraged. Owning a cardigan is optional.
Calling a fake correctly matters too. The aim is a playful contest of words and judgment, with the reveal keeping real words and invented ones clearly distinct.
FROM THE WORKBENCH
The letters are here. We're making them behave.
Gloze is taking shape with its own identity and a properly opinionated set of rules. The current concept gallery shows the home, word building, definitions, board, rewards and bluff reveal.
Player names, scores and choices in those images are illustrative. We'll share tested gameplay when it is ready. Until then, please enjoy the artwork and practise saying “yes, obviously” with a straight face.
