A brief developer detour into Canadian English, where “colour” brings an extra letter and “centre” rearranges the furniture.

We like this. Even the spelling gets a little customization.

Canadian English often keeps the U in words such as “colour” and “favour,” while favoring endings such as “centre” and “theatre.” That does not make it a separate language, and it certainly does not mean every Canadian writes exactly the same way.

It does give a software studio something entertaining to think about between moving buttons three pixels to the left.

There is a real design point hiding under the extra vowel: words should feel natural to the people reading them. A label is not finished merely because it fits in a rectangle.

Our preferred international policy is straightforward: make people welcome, make the instructions clear, and never charge extra for the U.

That would be a microtransactioun.
